Ventia has an exciting opportunity for a new graduate to join their Transport Infrastructure team based in Henderson!

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with client specific contractual obligations, development and delivery of site environmental, sustainability & quality assurance programmes & initiatives, providing professional services, process development and management, training and maintaining records and systems.

Some Key Accountabilities will include

  • Implement, monitor, and continually improve the Environmental Management System in relation to sustainability
  • Update, implement and monitor relevant strategies and action plans to achieve the sustainability objectives
  • Provide consistent, accurate, and reliable sustainability advice to the business with support from the broader SHEQ Team
  • Develop sustainability awareness programs and ensure the content is delivered
  • Ensure sustainability reporting is in line with legislation and contractual requirements
  • Incorporate sustainable practices through business processes and champion sustainability initiatives in line with Ventia’s Sustainability Strategy

ABOUT YOU

As the successful candidate, you will collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders. While your primary focus will be on environmental sustainability, you will also be involved in quality auditing at construction sites. This is a fast-paced position ideal for someone who is enthusiastic, passionate, and skilled at engaging with people from diverse backgrounds.

Experience:

  • Relevant experience in delivering Environmental and Sustainability initiatives within a maintenance or operational environment (or similar) is preferred.
  • Some experience in Auditing is desirable but we are happy to train you in this as well. 

Education and Qualifications:

  • Full Class 1 NZ Driver’s Licence.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field required
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
