 Ventia are seeking Field Managers to support their Telecommunications business across the Manawatu-Whanganui region.

  • Multiple fixed-term and permanent positions available
  • This role will be based in Bunnythorpe

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Regional or Works Manager, the successful candidates will join our team within the Telecommunications division. They will be accountable for the efficient delivery of projects, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and financial management are met. In this role, you will excel in a planning-driven environment, taking ownership of project timelines, costs (including variations), and overall productivity.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Leadership & Organisation: Proven leadership ability with strong organisational skills, able to plan proactively and manage tasks without resorting to reactive solutions.
  • Project Delivery: At least 3 years' experience delivering projects, preferably in the civil, telecommunications, water, or power sectors.
  • Civil Installation Knowledge: Familiarity with civil installation techniques, ideally in the telecommunications, water, or power industries.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to establish strong working relationships and influence both internal teams and clients.
  • Financial Management: Experience managing project budgets, including:
    • Understanding P&L reporting.
    • Managing WIP (Work in Progress).
    • Identifying and addressing issues to avoid cost overruns.

Qualifications

  • Valid full New Zealand driver’s licence (Class 1).

Responsibilities

  • Reporting: This role reports to the Regional Build Manager, combining both technical business skills and hands-on site management.
  • Team & Subcontractor Management: Oversee teams and subcontractors, including performance management.
  • Health & Safety: Strong commitment to upholding Health and Safety standards at all times.
  • Regional Travel: The role requires travel across the Central North Island region.
