ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is accountable for conducting Road Maintenance and Plant Operation duties to maintain the road network and perform general construction operations such as machinery operation as needed. The Operator will, when necessary, act as an on-the-job trainer for apprentices, trainees, and team members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively engage in civil construction activities, including the construction of new footpaths, sealed and unsealed road repairs, drainage, and completion of other construction-related tasks as part of a team.
  • Responsible for operating the plant and completing daily plant checks as per maintenance schedules, ensuring all plant are greased and inspected on a daily base, and stored correctly, and escalating concerns to the Foreperson, which can’t be resolved onsite.
  • Complete accurate daily timesheets showing plant utilization by cost code for each task undertaken.
  • Liaise with the Foreperson to monitor productivities to compare with tendered productivities.
