The Venue

The Auckland Fish Markets is home to some of our most loved quick service but exceptional food experiences - Lobster & Tap, Bang Bang Kitchen, Market Galley, The Store, and the market's watering hole The Wreck. Think of Hawker markets in Singapore and Malaysia… Your local old school Chinese takeaway… A luxe-shack dedicated to premium Canadian wild caught lobster in a buttered bun. A great mix of Eastern food, Western food, old favourites and future classics. Beers on tap, craft beers on ice, cocktails, hard sodas and a great variety of NZ wines. 

The Opportunity
  
We are looking for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our equally passionate team based at The Store Auckland Fish Markets. Ideally, you will have at least 2 years experience in a comparable venue, love for people and hospitality, good knowledge of food, ability to work evenings and weekends, and the desire to be part of a team with the drive to help it succeed!

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for the day to day operation of appointed kitchen section 
  • Preparing and making cafe menu items, such as Pies, Sandwiches and Salads
  • Assisting in stock management, including but not limited to ordering, receipting, storing, and rotation 
  • Contributing to menu planning and costing 
  • Monitoring portions and wastage 
  • Adhering to tasks as set out by senior leaders (Sous Chef, Head Chef) 
  • Ensuring quality and consistency of all food offerings
