The Venue
Ebisu serves up contemporary Japanese fare in a gloriously moody space right on Auckland’s waterfront in an historic building in Auckland’s Britomart precinct. A mixture of booths and tables are perfect for big groups or intimate gatherings. The menu draws together classic Japanese and European techniques - a mix of new-style sushi and sashimi as well as traditional Japanese dishes enlivened with unexpected twists. We have an extensive sake menu, Japan-inspired cocktails and a range of local, Japanese and imported beers.


The Opportunity 
We are searching for an experienced and inspiring Bar Manager to lead the team! Someone who is passionate about beverages and can develop, train and create world-class drinks. Ideally, you will have 2 - 3 years experience in a bar management role, sound wine, cocktail and spirit knowledge, costing and financial acumen experience, excellent sales skills, a passion for delivering high levels of customer service and the ability to teach and nurture a team. 

In this role you will be responsible for: 

  • Beverage costing and effective control practices across bar operations.
  • Training, mentoring, coaching and capability of building your team.
  • Ensuring effective stock management including ordering, levels, receipting, storage, stock take, rotation and display.
  • Compliance with Savor guidelines, policies, and procedures, including health and safety and the sale of alcohol act. 
  • Demonstrating sound understanding of food and beverage offerings and service.
  • Curating exceptional customer experiences by meeting and exceeding expectations.
