Ventia is engaged by Auckland Council to carry out all its FM-related works across hundreds of its buildings and facilities around the North Shore, Central Auckland, and part of East Auckland. 

We are currently seeking a motivated and suitably qualified Electrician to join our Tahi (North Shore) team.

This role provides you the opportunity to excel and build your electrical career while enjoying great compensation with allowances and a competitive rate for your hard work. You will gain hands-on experience and be exposed to prestigious employers such as Ventia and Auckland Council.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be reporting to the Multi Trade Team Manager, you will be responsible for servicing reactive and planned maintenance to the allocated buildings, equipment, and offices in Auckland. Our depot is based in Porana Road and primarily you will be assigned in the North Shore, providing reactive maintenance to assets in this area . Your work day will start on your first job and finish on your last job . 

This is an exciting role that offers lots of variety as we work across a diverse portfolio – from Community centres, libraries, administration buildings, swimming pools, etc. The normal hours of work are 7.30am to 4pm . There is a degree of flexibility depending on operational demands. You will mostly be working independently but from time to time may get sent to two-person jobs.

ABOUT YOU

You are a qualified and registered Electrician in New Zealand and value the safety of yourself and others above all else. Your strong background and knowledge, customer service, and overall efficiency will ensure your success in this role. 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant electrical experience in a commercial/industrial environment
  • Previous experience working in building maintenance with large volumes of assets and programmed servicing schedules
  • Site Safe Passport or equivalent, preferred but not essential
  • Ability to work an on-call roster as required
  • A current full class 1 NZ drivers’ license (manual driver's licence advantageous)
