Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

iag

We believe Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) will help us achieve our strategy and purpose.

We are committed to creating an inclusive culture where we respect and value the different experiences of our people. We strive to harness the opportunities and business benefits that these diverse ideas and perspectives bring to our organisation.

Our purpose is to make your world a safer place, and to do this, we need to attract and retain the best people who are passionate about our customers and have a broad range of skills, experiences and different frames of reference. This will help us to drive innovation and competitive advantage, and in turn, deliver improved financial performance.

IAG’s Group Diversity Equity & Inclusion Policy outlines IAG’s commitment to embracing differences and building an organisational culture that is inclusive and equitable – recognising and respecting the diversity of our employees, customers, suppliers, and communities in which we serve.

Targets

We monitor our performance across Diversity Equity and Inclusion across IAG and have several targets in place.

Women in Senior Management

We have set a group-wide target of 50% women in Senior Management roles by 30 June 2023. We define Senior Management as our Group Executive, Executive General Managers and Executive Managers.

We introduced this target in 2020 after reaching our initial target of 40% women in senior management roles by 2020. As of 30 June 2022, women represented 44% of senior management roles. More broadly, women represent 60% of our total workforce.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment

IAG’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representation in Australia was 1.3% on 30 June 2022, against a target of 3% by December 2023.

Our Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) was launched in June 2022 and goes through to June 2025.

Within the RAP, we have committed to uplifting the employment experience of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees and potential new employees through our RAP People & Culture DeliverablesPlan. This plan has been developed following engagement with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees and guidance from external experts.

It addresses how IAG:

Attracts, develops and retains Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.

Creates cultural safety at all levels of the organisation.

Continues our commitment to the CareerTrackers internship program.

Employee Network Groups

We celebrate inclusion and have a rich tapestry of diversity represented in part through our Employee Network Groups (ENGs). Our ENGs amplify the voice of our diverse communities and provide the opportunity for our people to contribute, connect and drive inclusion. Our ENG communities are focused on gender equity, LGBTQ+, First Nations, Pacific Island peoples, mental health, domestic and family violence, accessibility, climate action and families and carers.

Early Careers

We recognise the need for our organisation to proactively address the cultural inequalities in our society and develop a culturally diverse workforce through our talent pipelines.

In Australia we support several programs including CareerTrackersCareerSeekers and Stepping IntoTupuToa Internship program and First Foundation Scholarship program.

Our internship programs not only allow diverse students to gain work experience across IAG aligned to their studies and aspiring future careers, they support us in discovering new talent and skills for the future.

Supporting adjustments for diverse candidates

We aim to deliver a fair, equitable and inclusive experience for all and so actively encourage applicants of diverse backgrounds additional support through our recruitment process and beyond.

If you have any questions or concerns about participating in the application/interview process, need any adjustments to be made, please get in touch with our Talent Acquisition team on +61 (0)2 9292 9222 or email recruitment@iag.com.au.
